The day after Mayor Michael Manicki updated residents on the increasingly tight municipal water supply brought on by the continued lack of rainfall; mandatory water use restrictions were imposed in the Village of Alden. As of July 15th, residents are asked to stop watering lawns, washing cars and filling pools and ornamental fountains, limit their watering of plants to no more than twice daily, before 10 am and after 6 pm, and wash only full loads of clothes and dishes. These restrictions will remain in effect until water levels in the village wells return to less-concerning levels.
