Hot Country Liners will perform at the Alden Farmers Market on Sat., July 25, from approximately 11:00 am to 11:45. The group’s more than a dozen dancers come from all over WNY.
There will be a demonstration on how to prepare some of the fruits and vegetables available from the Market’s stands. Summer produce is approaching its peak and new crops are appearing weekly. The Market also features a diverse range of plants, baked goods, wine, maple and honey products, candy, handcrafted soaps, spices, barbecue sauce and handmade sausage.
Winning ticket for the Chamber’s “Big Basket” raffle will be pulled just before the Market closes at 1:00. The basket includes hundreds of dollars worth of Gift Certificates, Lotto tickets, and special offers from a wide variety of local businesses. Tickets are $1.00 and also are available at the Alden Advertiser, Alden Pharmacy, and the Chamber of Commerce office.
The Alden Chamber of Commerce will have coffee, cold drinks, hot dogs and pizza for sale to customers. The Chamber also sells spices and dips, and a series of unique Alden postcards.
Next week, Aug. 1, is the “Village Wide Garage Sale”. In addition to individual sites throughout the village, many garage sale and crafts tables also are expected at the Market. The Alden Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 8:30 – 1:00 through Oct. 10. It is sponsored by the Chamber and is located at 13119 Broadway (Rt 20). This is the Market’s 13th season.
