600x470-Christmas-Tree-Nature1024-226431 cookiesThe Town of Marilla invites everyone to Marilla’s annual holiday celebration Christmas in Marilla this Saturday, December 13.

This free, family. fun event will begin at 4:30 pm in and around the Marilla Community Center, Marilla Town Hall, the Marilla Highway Garage and the Marilla Fire Department.

The festivities will begin with caroling at 4:45 at the Pavilion with Dan and Denise Deneke. The Marilla Kiwanis Club will present and light the Town Christmas tree as everyone waits for Santa’s arrival. Santa should arrive shortly after 5:00.

Santa will be ready to listen to the wish lists of all of the boys and girls while parents take pictures of the event. (Please bring your own cameras).

Through out the evening hayrides will take everyone from place to place so that all will have an opportunity to enjoy the many activities that are planned., Live reindeer, free s’mores, free Marilla Christmas ornaments, a free Christmas cookie, to decorate, address a card to a serviceman, write a letter to Santa, make a holiday craft and enjoy the music of “Shattered Glass” in the Community Center

Many charitable organizations will be in the Fire Hall so that the adults can support their fund raising activities. A bake sale will also be going on all evening.

The Marilla Historical Society Museum will be open and all things Marilla (books, mugs, plates,flags etc.) will be for sale for Christmas gift giving.

A Chili Cook Off will take place at the Highway garage. If you would like to enter; forms are available at the Marilla Town Clerk;s office or by going on the Town web site townofmarilla.com. Entries should be at the Highway Garage by 3:30. Judging will be at 4:00.

Free hot dogs, hot chocolate, pie and coffee will be available all evening. Free Dutch oven cobbler, compliments of Boy Scout Troop 290, will also be available.
