The 57th Annual Alden Art Show will be held on Sun- day Sept. 7, 2014. It will run from 10 am-4 pm and will be held at the Firemen’s Memori- al Bandstand Park in the Vil- lage of Alden. This is a judged show with ribbons and cash prizes being awarded at 4 pm.
Other activities for the day include: Alden Hook and Ladder Fire Company Chicken BBQ 11:30 am until sold out, kids judged art show, Ewell Free Library book sale from 10 am- 3 pm, Akron Commu- nity Band performance and tours of the Alden Historical Society from 2 pm – 4 pm.

Kids Art Show
The Alden Art Club fea- tures a judged art show, just for children 18 and un- der. There is no entry fee and the winners are awarded prize ribbons. Art work must be able to hang on the snow fence, and no pre-registration is required.
Landmark Painting Contest
The Alden Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Land- mark Painting Contest for the Alden Art Club’s Fall Show.
The following rules apply to enter the landmark contest: Open to all artists, must be a familiar/recognizable scene within the Town or Village of Alden, one entry per artist, paintings/drawings, fine art work only and no collages.
A plaque will be awarded to the winning artist at 4 pm, the day of the show.
Win a Painting
A framed print of Alden’s Firemen’s Memorial Band- stand Park was donated by artist Paul T. Hanover. After painting the scene, Paul said it looked so homey and inviting, he titled it “Hometown uSA”.
The print is being raffled by the Alden Art Club at their 57th Annual Fall Art Show. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
