The girls’ varsity volleyball team has added a few titles to their 2018 season. First, on October 29th the girls played Fredonia High School at home, and won in 3 games. Star players include Jenna Kersten with an outstanding 20 assists and 2 aces and Emma Lux with amazing serve receive and 3 digs.
Then the girls went to Daemen college to play against Springville for a third time this season. Although a tough match, Alden came out victorious on November 1st. Captain Emma Diebel played a great game passing and covering, with 4 digs, and also serving 3 aces. Miranda Frank also had fantastic serve receive and coverage of all the hitters. This win awarded Alden the title of Section B2 Champions.
Most recently, the team returned to Daemen on November 5th to play Olean for the overall Class B Championship title. After 4 grueling games, Alden came out on top yet again. Key players include captain Shelby Kersten with 24 kills, 5 digs, and 3 blocks and captain Emma Wlostowski with 11 kills, 12 digs, and 2 aces.
This phenomenal team moves on to the subregionals on November 7th at 5 pm against Westhill.
