In May during the budget vote, the Alden School Board had a straw poll to see how the public felt about the Alternative Veterans Exemption and whether or not the board should proceed with offering it. The poll showed that voters overwhelmingly are in favor of the board moving forward with this voting 717 yes and 209 no.
