A Public Hearing is set for January 14, 2016, at 7:35 pm to take comment on proposed increases in the water and sewer rates. Mayor Manicki noted that the Erie County Water Authority recently released its new rates. The Village of Alden’s water rate is slightly higher than ECWA, but the village does not charge a summer surcharge, or a fire hydrant fee. The village’s wastewater treatment plant is now 30 years old and in need of major upgrades.
