On Saturday, June 13, 2015, Andrew’s Army hosted their fifth annual memorial blood drive/basket raffle to benefit Unyts. All donations of blood are utilized locally by patients in our area hospitals. The blood count was down from last year with 135 units collected. Each unit of blood however, assists three local, hospital patients, so over 400 lives were touched by this drive. There were also twenty first time blood donors which is very motivating. The basket raffle/sponsorship numbers were up from last year with over $13,000 generated.

Andrew’s Army’s totals over $93,000. The lifetime goal of this group was to raise $100,000 for Unyts. That looks like it may become a reality soon. More importantly, blood donors are saving lives locally.
